Kumasi, February 28, 2025 – Further developments have emerged in the ongoing investigation into the tragic death of Joana Deladem Yabani, shedding more light on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The police and the University Security Services at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) have successfully recovered her laptop and mobile phone, which were found hidden behind the Flint Hostel.
The location was identified through CCTV footage from the hostel’s security surveillance system.
According to investigators, the retrieval of these items has provided crucial evidence to aid in the prosecution process. The suspect in custody was arraigned before the Circuit Court at Asafo earlier today and has been remanded. The court has scheduled the next hearing for March 17, 2025. Authorities from the Ghana Police Service and KNUST continue to collaborate to ensure justice is served.
The management of KNUST has reaffirmed its commitment to cooperating with law enforcement and supporting ongoing investigations.
