Hearts of Oak defender Kofi Agbesimah has decided not to continue as captain of the club, according local media reports.
The former Bechem United centre-back was named as captain of the Phobians in March, succeeding Gladson Awako, who joined city rivals Great Olympics during the second transfer window.
Goalkeeper Richard Attah and defender Kelvin Osei Assibey were named as the first and second deputy captains, respectively.
But according to reports in the media, has informed management of the club about his decision to step down from his role as the team’s captain.
It remains uncertain whether Agbesimah’s request will be granted by the management of the Rainbow Club.
Hearts of Oak are currently eleventh on the Ghana Premier League table with 35 points after 27 matches.
They are set to face Accra Lions in the upcoming Matchday 28 fixture at the Accra Sports Stadium this weekend.
