The second taxi cab driver killed this year in Koforidua the Eastern Regional capital will be laid to rest on Saturday , according to the family.
The Taxi driver -Joshua Amevegbe was attacked and strangulated to death by his assailants while working at night on March 5,2021.
Meanwhile the bereaved family is calling on the Police to do more to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime for justice to be served .

The murdered Taxi driver -Joshua Amevegbe alias Joe B is said to be 25 years.
He was a resident of Ada -Magazine in Koforidua .
He was murdered Friday night of March 5,2021 but his lifeless body was only found dead in plantain farm the following morning of Saturday March 6 ,2021 same spot where another taxi driver was found dead in February.
The assailants absconded with the brand new taxi cab with registeration number ER 1208-21 which the deceased was driving.
His body has been deposited at St.Joseph Hospital morgue by Police for preservation .
On Sunday March 8, ,the family went to the Regional CID to officially report the incident to the Police for investigation.
Brother of the deceased driver Eric Ahiavor narrated to Mybrytfmonline.com that “Joshua Amevegbe went to work on Friday but didn’t return so we thought may be someone hired him to transport him to long distance community so will return next day. But on the next day he didn’t return so the parents went to report the incident at the Police station where they were told that there was a reported case of murder at Korle -Nkwanta so the body has been deposited at St. Joseph Hospital. They showed the picture of the deceased which was our brother “
No arrest has been made so far.
In January 27,2021 ,a taxi driver was found dead at the same spot near Korle -Nkwanta Anglican Basic School.
The taxi driver was found dead tied in a rope in a plantain farm near Anglican Basic School compound
No arrest has also been made .
The incidents have heightened fear among taxi drivers operating in Koforidua with most refusing to operate to far communities at night .
