Police in Koforidua are investigating circumstances surrounding the death of a nine year old pupil of Trinity Presbyterian Basic School.
Yaa Serwaa went to the pool at Tonyx Hotel on Sunday with five other siblings under the care of their father.
She reportedly did not take part in the swimming with her siblings and other children rather took pictures at the poolside.
She was however found drowning in the pool without notice of her siblings and other children who were swimming.
Yaa Serwaa was retrieved and rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival.
“The child didn’t swim. She sat near the pool to take pictures.she went with the father so later the father was searching for her all over then someone drew his attention that the child is under the pool. She was removed and rushed to Central hospital but died on arrival” The mother narrated .
She added “She went to the pool with her five siblings who were all swimming including 4 year old. There was other people swimming in the pool as well”
The late Yaa Serwaa celebrated her 9th n birthday on December 1,2024.
