A city guard with New Juaben South Municipal Assembly in the Eastern Regional Capital has sustained injuries after a tricycle rider she arrested caused her ejection while speeding.
The victim Victoria Nydedzor as part of her routine duty ensuring compliance to securing operating permits by tricycle riders arrested the suspect rider Prince Amariba, 21, who did not have the operating permit sticker on the tricycle.
The rider however claimed he had the permit but left the sticker home hence the city guard asked to join him at the house to inspect the document.
On reaching the Oyoko township area, the tricycle rider accelerated and deliberately turned the steer which nearly caused the tricycle to crash.
The City guard who was sitting near the doors was forcibly ejected by the impact of gravity and crashed on the ground.
She sustained an injury on the forehead and the upper lip and was rushed to the hospital for treatment.
A manhunt for the rider is ongoing.
