Commercial drivers in the Eastern Capital, Koforidua have lavished praises on both the New Juaben South and New Juaben North Assemblies respectively for fixing traffic lights in the city.
According to them, traffic lights in both municipalities were broken which led to a bit of chaos and confusion anytime they use the main roads in the city.
“Even though we know it’s their job to fix it, we need to thank them when they do the right thing. This has been a major challenge for us as drivers because not all drivers have the patience to take away when the other is approaching, so the broken traffic lights caused more accidents and have broken many cars. So the fix has brought smiles to us since it tells us what to do”. One commercial driver said.
“We are indeed grateful to the assemblies for fixing the traffic lights because it has been a headache we the drivers. Fixing them has solved 90% of the challenges we are facing as drivers in this city but I want to use this medium and plead that, they should try and fix solar panels for the various traffic lights because anytime the lights go off, it affects the traffic lights which in my opinion doesn’t look good”. Another suggested.
The drivers in the Eastern Capital, went on pleaded with the government to try their best and ensure the safety of the ordinary Ghanaian as the coronavirus pandemic is eventually taking over the country because it’s affecting their business.
