The Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Hon. Michael Okyere Baafi has said, the road from Water Works Junction to Obuotabiri Mountains in Koforidua, the Eastern Regional Capital is among one of the priority roads in the constituency to be face lifted.
The MP stated that many businesses have expressed interest to set up on the mountain which apart from being a mast hub for telecommunication companies and radio stations, also serves as a fitness destination patronized by hundreds of people.
The Lawmaker said “we promised to construct all deplorable roads in Koforidua. Some of the priority roads to see a facelift as soon as possible are the magazine road, Obuotabiri, and Abogiri roads. The reason why we added Oboutabiri road is the people want to set up businesses on the mountain but they want the road fixed first. The contractor has returned to the Nyamekrom road working”.
The MP said this at a community engagement in Koforidua Old Estate on Sunday, April 11, 2021.
Roads too many communities in the Regional Capital are in a deplorable state after various contractors abandoned sites after the election.
But the MP says, the Minister of Roads and Highway has assured him the roads will be fixed.
