President John Dramani Mahama is scheduled to visit the Eastern Region tomorrow, Friday, July 4, 2025, with activities centered in the regional capital, Koforidua, particularly within the New Juaben North Municipal Assembly.
President John Dramani Mahama will be launching the ‘No Fees Stress’ tertiary education policy at the SDA College of Education in Asokore.
The visit also forms part of the President’s nationwide working tour aimed at inspecting and evaluating key government programs, notably the free first-term tertiary education policy—a flagship initiative of the current administration.
Government sources indicate that the President will be engaging with local stakeholders, including educational institutions and student bodies, to assess the effectiveness of the policy’s implementation. The initiative, introduced to fulfill a major campaign promise, is designed to ease the financial burden on first-year tertiary students and improve access to higher education across Ghana.
While in Koforidua, President Mahama is also expected to hold discussions with municipal leaders and education sector representatives to gather feedback and identify any operational challenges affecting the rollout.
Tomorrow’s visit highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to promote accountability and ensure that key social intervention programs are reaching their intended beneficiaries.
Further details on the President’s itinerary and key outcomes from the visit are expected to be released after the engagement.
