Former Registrar of Pentecost University ,Elder Gibson Annor -Antwi has emphasized the importance of raising family altars to strengthen the local church in line with the overarching theme of the church of Pentecost “Repositioning the Local Church for Maximum Impact on the Nations”
According to Elder Gibson Annor -Antwi, raising family altars also has positive generational impact of raising great God fearing people for a country’s development.
Speaking at a program dubbed “Manifestation” to be climaxed today Sunday at PIWC-KOFORIDUA, the former Registrar of Pentecost University Elder Gibson Annor- Antwi underscored the importance of raising family altars in strengthening the local church and impacting on national development.
Expounding on the topic”Raising family altars ,Lessons from the puritans”, Elder Gibson Annor-Antwi gleaned the contrasting legacies of God fearing puritan preacher Jonathan Edwards and unbeliver Max Jukes of US in what some call the five-generation rule ,to demonstrate the importance of raising family alters.
Elder Gibson Annor -Antwi said Jonathan Edwards’ legacy of generational impact included producing : 1 U.S. Vice-President, 1 Dean of a law school, 1 dean of a medical school, 3 U.S. Senators, 3 governors, 3 mayors, 13 college presidents, 30 judges, 60 doctors, 65 professors, 75 Military officers, 80 public office holders, 100 lawyers, 100 clergymen, and 285 college graduates
Whereas, children and grandchildren of Max Jukes in different generations constituted the thugs, the hoodlums, the area boys, the criminals and the prostitutes of each generation which out 903 descendants: 145 were confirmed drunkards. 90 were prostitutes.
Elder Gibson Annor-Antwi charged christians to take family devotions seriously to build and imbibe the word of God in the children.
The resident Minister of PIWC-KOFORIDUA,Pastor Musa Yahaya stated that ,the world is changing fast and negativities in it are influencing children dangerously therefore the need for the family to rise up to build the next generation of God fearing puritans who will stand for the Lord at all times.
