Ghana international forward Kevin-Prince Boateng is surprised his brother was dropped from Germany’s squad for the upcoming Euro 2020 Championship.
Joachim Low excluded the Bayern Munich defender from the list despite his impressive performance in his final season with the Bundesliga Champions.
The AC Monza ace believes the latter was the most consistent central defender of the season.
He indicated the coach may trust other players and will see if it was a mistake to drop Jerome if things do not go as the coach imagined.
“Low has thought something, but of course it is very surprising since Jerome was the most consistent central defender of the whole season – and for me also the best,” he told the Bild.
“Maybe Low trusts the others more. We’ll see if it was a mistake if things don’t go as the national coach imagined,”
“We cannot look into Jogi Low’s head. And to be honest: The alternatives are not that bad,” he added.
Germany has been placed in the group of death where they face defending champions Portugal, France, and Hungry.
Jerome Boateng was part of the squad that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup for Germany in Brazil.
