The Director of Special Projects at the Office of the Member of Parliament, Mr. Mustapha Nafiu, together with the Assemblyman for the Kpembe Electoral Area, Hon. Eliasu Siibu, led a team to Kpembe to carry out the demolition of the dilapidated toilet facility at Kayanse.
The exercise forms part of ongoing preparations for the construction of a modern and befitting toilet facility for the people of Kpembe by the Member of Parliament, Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah. The intervention follows persistent calls from residents—especially those in Kayanse—for improved sanitation infrastructure.
Before the demolition, the Municipal Chief Executive and the Constituency Chairman held a community sensitization programme that brought together chiefs, opinion leaders, and the youth. The session was aimed at informing the community about the MP’s plans to construct the new facility.
Residents, including the Assemblyman, expressed their appreciation for the project. They noted that the poor state of the old facility had forced many people to resort to open defecation. They added that their prayers are with the MP and the MCE as they look forward to the completion of the new facility.
