The Police administration is to establish a divisional police command in the Lower Manya Krobo area and establish two additional police stations to help boost security in the area.
The Commanding Officer of the Police Service Workshop at the Ghana Police Service, COP Ebenezer Francis Doku hinted these considerations are underway to establish a Krobo Police Divisional Headquarters possibly at Manya Krobo, and two additional police stations under the Odumase District Police Command probably at Asitey and Atua as part of efforts to improve police operations.
He said as part of the broader plans to improve policing in the entire country, the police administration is also planning to create eight new administrative regions of the Ghana Police Service to bring the administrative regions in the country to twenty-six.
COP Doku said this when Dr. Sipim Narh Tekpertey II visited him at his office at the Headquarters of the Ghana Police Service in Accra on Tuesday.
The Krobo area is faced with insecurity owing to agitations over billing and installation of prepaid meters.
Two persons lost their Ives while many others were injured in clashes between residents and police after the attack on the ECG office.
COP Doku used the opportunity to appeal to the youth of Krobo to remain calm and corporate with the Electricity Company of Ghana with the installation of prepaid meters in the Krobo area.
