Hon. Ebenezer Terlabi Okletey, Member of Parliament for Lower Manya Constituency, has presented items worth thousands of Ghana cedis and an unspecified amount of money to be distributed among the thirteen surviving victims of the police brutalities during, the Krobo/PDS impasse which left one person dead and thirteen others maimed at Odumase-Krobo during 2019.
The items are bags of rice, sugar and boxes of cooking oil, was given to the victims some of whom have become bedridden as a result of the brutalities metted to them by the Police.
Mr Terlabi appealed to the victims to remain calm since he has made efforts which are far advance to seek reasonable compensation for them. He noted with regret that, central government has still not come to their aid, even after several calls to that effect.
The MP stated that, he will continue to use his office, as the representative of the people of Lower Manya Krobo to seek redress for them as he, has demonstrated his commitment which safeguarded the interest of the people during the period of the impasse with led to the death of a 23 year old Thomas Partey, a native from Manya Kpongunor, a suburb of Odumase Krobo.
Miss Ruth Tetteh, a victim whose leg was amputated as a result of a bullet wound she has sustained during the impasse, commended the MP for responding to their plight and assured him that the items would be properly utilised.
