The Public Relations department of Koforidua Technical University, KTU, has issued statement denying publication that the revered university invited Bongo Ideas,a blogger,notorious for his uncouth utterances on social media to speak on Entrepreneurship .
Albert Nat Hyde alias Bongo Ideas, Kobby Kyei and few other bloggers were invited to speak at the entrepreneurship workshop series(Bloggers Editions), organized by Bkay Photos inside KTU campus on the 27th of February.
Some social media users have since criticized KTU for allowing such indisciplined character to be part of such program on campus.
Some blogging sites subsequently published the events and reaction by furious social media users.
However, statement issued by the Public Relations Officer of KTU, Victoria A. Kuusangyele and addressed to GhPage stated that,”we refer to the post on your Facebook page under the subject,
“Koforidua Technical University Invites Bongo Ideas To Speak At Entrepreneurship Conference”
and wish to state categorically that Koforidua Technical University has no knowledge of such invitation”.:
The statement further said “It is rather unfortunate that you published inaccurate news without verifying from your source who the organisers of the programme were.
Be informed that Koforidua Technical University is a reputable institution of higher learning, noted for engaging a calibre of experts who impart excellent ideas to its students. We are therefore by this rejoinder demanding that you pull down the post and apologise to ALL STAKEHOLDERS for the offensive publication that has dented the image of the University in the eyes of right thinking members of society”.
The University is demanding an equal prominence given its disclaimer by the bloggers ” Failure to do so, the University will resort to legal action to restore its dented image”.
