Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has organized 2023 education workshop and STEM Exhibition for Basic and Senior High Schools.
It was participated by 20 Basic and Senior High Schools in Koforidua under the theme ” Boost Ghana’s Global Significance and competition through Education”.
The event provided opportunity for students to showcase their STEM projects and innovations such as prototype helicopter, cars, blender made from waste materials among others.
Some of the students who exhibited their innovations appealed to government to support students with creative minds to apply their scientific ideas into innovative products.
Coordinator of the STEM event, Prof.Prince Boateng, Head Of Department Faculty of Built and Natural Environment at KTU said the annual event is to complement government’s effort in boosting STEM and TVET education and shifting the minds of students at Basic level towards Engineering and vocational education.
Prof. Prince Boateng added it is time Ghana focuses on applied science to build indigenous softwares and equipment tailor made to address local problems.
Richmond Asumadu,an entrepreneur and CEO of Brich Company said Technology and Agriculture are the two main sector that can drive Ghana’s economy therefore the need for massive investment.
