Management and students of Koforidua Technical University (KTU) are mourning the tragic death of a first-year student Rose Asante, who sustained life-threatening injuries in a domestic gas fire outbreak.
Two other victims who were in the house at the time of the incident are currently battling for their lives at the Eastern Regional Hospital.
According to sources, the fire was triggered by a gas leakage in the house.
The situation escalated when a woman unknowingly struck a match, igniting the leaked gas and causing a massive fire outbreak.
The fire left three people, including Rose Asante, with severe burns.
They were quickly rushed to the Eastern Regional Hospital for emergency treatment. Unfortunately, Rose, who was pursuing an HND in Purchasing and Supply, succumbed to her injuries.
In honor of her memory, KTU students held a candlelight vigil on campus, mourning the loss of their colleague and expressing solidarity with her grieving family.
