The Koforidua Technical University (KTU) has suspended plans to resume academic exercise for first and second-year students.
A statement issued earlier on August 5, 2020, by management stated that” Under the directives of Government of Ghana, all First and Second Year students are to return to campus to complete the Second Semester of the 2019/2020 academic year within a maximum of four (4) weeks.
In light of the above, the Academic Board at its 162nd Emergency Meeting held on Monday, 3rd August 2020 approved the following timetable for the resumption of lectures:

1. Reporting: 23rd August 2020
2. Lectures: 24th August – 6th September 2020
3. Exams: 7th – 20th September 2020
2 HND (Level 100) – DPA (Level 100)
Non-Tertiary (Level 100)
1. Reporting: 27th September 2020
2. Lectures: 28th September – 11th October 2020
3. Exams: 12th – 25th October 2020
However, in a statement issued August 11, 2020, and signed by the Registrar of KTU -Mensah Livingstone (Ph.D.) withdrawing the initial decision stated explicitly that “We write to inform all members of staff and students that due to circumstances beyond our control, the earlier time-table for the resumption of lectures by students has been suspended until further notice. Any inconvenience caused by this suspension is deeply regretted”.
Due to the Coronavirus pandemic, educational facilities in Ghana remain closed except final year students in Junior High Schools, Senior High Schools and Tertiary Institutions who are in school completing their final semester.
