Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has appealed to Ghanaians to maintain peace and uphold democratic values during the upcoming general elections, emphasizing the importance of respecting the election results, speaking to journalists on Sunday, November 17.
Former President Kufuor was optimistic about a seamless electoral process as the true power rest with the citizens and called for peace throughout the electioneering period and even beyond.
“We must acknowledge that genuine power reside with the electorates, and it is crucial to accept the results, regardless of personal preferences. I urge all participants to prioritize peace during this election.”
Ghana is gearing up for its general elections on December 7, with the main contest shaping up between Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and John Dramani Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
