Mybrytfmonline.com has gathered that the security man on duty during last night’s robbery incident at Green Dor restaurant and Gas filling station at Akyem Kukurantumi in the Eastern Region took to his heels and let behind a single barrel gun he was using to protect the place.
The armed robbers, therefore, took away the gun and Ghc137 at the gas filling station.
Mybrytfmonline.com has gathered that the armed robbers on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at about 8:00pm attacked Green Dor Guest House and a gas filling station nearby.
Amidst sporadic gunshots, the armed robbers broke into the gas filling station offices and restaurant of the guest house, caused damage to the doors, and took away Ghc137 from the gas filling station office.
Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
The acting Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command Sergeant Francis Gomado confirmed the incident stating that the night patrol team of the Akyem Tafo District Police command responded swiftly upon receiving the information but the robbers escaped before their arrival.
He stated that seven empty BB cartridges, one live BB cartridge, and three wads were retrieved at the scene.
Armed robbery in the Abuakwa North Municipality is becoming rampant. Some residents believe the robbery gang could be the same group that had operated and robbed several passengers on Akyem old Tafo to Anyinasin road for many years.

One person also sustained gunshot wounds.
The Akyem Tafo District Police Crime Officer ASP Fred Kpetigo confirmed that the incident occurred on Monday, April 5, 2021, at about 7:20pm where four men armed with three pump action guns and a knife attacked Goodness Energy Filling station at Osiem.
He said, the armed men fired indiscriminately resulting in the death of one Nuhu Yashawu, 32, who was escaping from the scene.
A 71-year-old man, Padmore Ofosu, was also hit at the back by a pellet and but has been treated and discharged at the hospital.
The robbers absconded with an unquantified amount being the night sales of the fuel station.
The robbers also took away a Motorola phone belonging to the night security man Adamu Zakari, 30.
Police retrieved five (5) empty cartridges at the scene.
