Veteran football administrator Jonathan Abbey Pobi has expressed his displeasure about the Ghana Football Associations failure to pay Ghana Premier League referees after matchday 15.
The Ghana Football Association have announced plans to pay Referees of the Ghana Premier League part of the monies owed them.
According to the FA, Referees in the league will pocket four match days allowance this week.
It is believed the referees have only received allowances from only four match days, despite handling games till matchday 15.
In an interview with Koforidua based Bryt FM, Mr Pobi rated the performance of the Ghana FA low as he believes he has not lived up to expectations.
He said, the inability of Kurt Okraku to settle referees makes him a failure and has called on him to act swiftly to safe the FA from troubles.
“Bribery in our game bound down to referees because during the Nyantakyi’s era, referees were not paid and I think that propelled them to take a bribe. We have played 15 league matches, and so for Kurt Okraku to pay only four match days means he is encouraging bribery and corruption back into our game” he said.
