Koforidua reform corporative chairman, Mr Kwabena Antwi has joined calls for drivers to take extra care on the roads during the Christmas season and beyond.
Mr Kwabena Antwi observed that by being cautious, drivers could help reduce the number of accidents, adding that drivers must strictly adhere to all road safety requirements and regulations to curtail road crashes in the country before, during and after the Christmas festivities.
He advised drivers to avoid reckless driving, speeding, unnecessary overtaking, drunk-driving, overloading and disregard of road signs to ensure safety on roads.
Speaking in an interview with Koforidua based Bryt Fm Kwabena Antwi said achieving an incident-free Christmas without any road accidents is a collateral responsibility.
Mr Kwabena Antwi advised drivers not to violate traffic laws.
He also advised drivers to rest if they are tired. Drivers should insist on dropping passengers at the bus stops and not anywhere on the road.
“People should be careful when using the road. A car is a machine and anything can happen so you need not fight space with Drivers” he advised pedestrians.
