The Municipal Chief Executive nominee for Kwaebibirim, Seth Antwi Bosiako has been confirmed.
Seth Antwi Boasiako polled 49 votes (90.74%) approval as against 5 votes (9.26%) disapproval.
Journalists were however prevented from covering the voting exercise.
In a related development, the District Chief Executive nominee for Birim North District in the Eastern region Raymond Nana Damptey was rejected by the Assembly today Monday, October 11, 2021.
He polled 14 Yes votes as against 24 No votes.
The voters include 26 elected assembly members and 12 government appointees.
He becomes the third nominee to be rejected in the Eastern region.
Two female nominees for Birim Central and New Juaben North Municipality Victoria Adu and Comfort Asante respectively were rejected last week.
The DCE nominee for Achiase, Richmond Kofi Amponsah Adjabeng was the first to be rejected, however, was confirmed on Sunday, October 3, 2021 manipulation and violence led to the beating of some Assembly members.
Twenty-four (24) Municipal and District Chief Executives out of the total 33 Nominees have so far been confirmed in the Eastern region.
However, two of the only four females MCE nominees have been rejected
The Eastern Regional Minister, Seth Kwame Acheampong is hopeful the rest will be confirmed by the end of this week.
