Coronavirus cases recorded in Kwahu Afram Plains North District of the Eastern Region have jumped to eight (8).
The District Health Directorate submitted 45 samples of suspected cases out of which 44 results released with 8 confirmed cases.
The first two confirmed cases were recorded on July 3, 2020, while six others confirmed on July 10.
Some Police Officers are among the number of persons tested positive.
Meanwhile, Kwahu Afram Plains South and Asene Akroso districts have recorded its first Coronavirus cases.
The Afram Plains South case was confirmed Monday, July 13, 2020 after results of about half of 30 samples of suspected cases sent for testing were released.
A driver who works with a state Institution in Accra but recently came home at Akyem Akroso in Asene Manso Akroso District has also tested positive.
Health officials in the district have meanwhile asked his wife who is a food vendor in a School to stop selling until the results of the samples of the family are released.
Contact tracing is ongoing in both cases.
The latest districts bring to 31 out of 33 districts and Municipalities that have recorded Covid-19 cases in the Eastern Region.
Eastern Regional Covid-19 Cases count has hit 962 with 856 recoveries and discharges. The death toll remains 10 in the July 12, 2020 update by the Regional Health Directorate.
