A farmer has been killed by a ravaging bushfire incident at Kwahu – Daa, a community in the Kwahu West District of the Eastern Region.
The deceased, Mybrytfmonline.com gathered that reportedly set fire into weeds on land he was preparing to cultivate on, but suddenly, the fire spread to a 4-acre cocoa farm. The deceased-Kwame Yeboah was trapped dead by the fire in his attempt to extinguish the fire to mitigate the destruction.
The body of the deceased has been retrieved by the Police and deposited at the morgue pending autopsy.
Bushfire incident in the Eastern Region is on the rise raising fear of affecting food security since estimated total of over 600 acres of farms have been destroyed since January.
