The Kwahu Government Hospital in the Eastern Region has commenced production of alcohol base hand sanitizers in large quantities for residents to enhanced hygiene in the wake of the outbreak of Covid-19.
According to Management, the production of the product is part of its Corporate Social Responsibilities to help prevent the spread of coronavirus to the community. The hand sanitizer product is to be sold at very low cost to the people.
In view of this , the District Chief Executive (DCE) for Kwahu South District, Emmanuel Atta Ofori, has donated Five Thousand Cedis (GH₵5,000) to management of the Hospital to stimulate the production of the product to aid in the fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Use the money for the stated purpose to enable the people of Kwahu South have access to hand sanitizers “The DCE advised.
He however appealed to Businessmen and well to do individuals from the kwahu ridge area to support the hospital in the discharge of its services.
Receiving the money on behalf of the hospital, the District Director of Health, Dr. Kwaku Owusu, commended the DCE for the kind gesture.
He said, though Ghana has recorded dozens of infections of coronavirus, majority were imported with low community transmission therefore urged calm but with strict adherence to the preventive protocols.
Present were Head of Pharmacy Department-Mr. Valence Duah, Medical Superintendent Dr. Akoto Ampaw.
