MTN Ghana, a mobile telecommunication giant on Thursday 14th April 2022 handed over GH₵ 70,000 paved durbar grounds to the people of Kwahu Obomeng.
Speaking at the colorful ceremony, Mr. Stephen Asare, area sales manager for Eastern, Volta, and Oti Region handed over the facility to the Obomenghene, the gesture was part of the efforts of MTN to help the societies within which they operate.
Obomenghene, Nana Effah Opinamang III expressed his profound gratitude to the Management of MTN for funding the said project.
“This gesture, for me, is worthy of emulation and I wish to state that you have demonstrated this long-standing commitment to the principle of shared responsibility,” he said.
This came to light when MTN Ghana executives the company led by Mr. Stephen Asare paid a courtesy to Kwahuhene, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II, Abetifihene, Akyemfour Asiedu Agyemang III, Obomenghene Nana Effah Opinamang III, and Mpraesohene Nana Ampadu Daaduam II and also to fulfill its promise of supporting Kwahu Easter.
The company the gesture presented a cheque of GH 10,000, a drink hampers for the celebrations, and airtime worth GH 1,000.
The company also presented GH 5,000, drink hampers, and airtime worth GH 500 each to Obomeng, Abetifi, and Mpraeso.
Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Stephen Asare indicated that to provide a distinct customer experience during the celebration, MTN will set up an experience center at Obomeng to provide customers with an enhanced customer experience whilst they celebrate. Given the ongoing SIM registrations, they will also have a team that will register customers’ SIM with the Ghana Card.
“We also wish to inform the people of Kwahu that, MTN Heroes of Change is currently open for nominations. This edition of the MTN Heroes of Change is being organized to reward individuals and institutions that have made a significant impact in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country” he added.
He said the work done during the period should be in the three focus areas of the MTN Ghana Foundation which are Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment.
He, therefore, urged Kwahuhene to nominate heroes from this community who fall within the criteria for MTN Heroes of Change. The deadline for nominations is the 25th of April 2022.
