The Omanhene of Kwahu traditional council, Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II has admonished telecommunication giant, MTN Ghana to work hard to maintain the successes it has chalked as a company.
While commending the company for its consistency in delivering services to the Ghanaian populace, the Kwahu monarch urged management to continue assisting socio-economic development in the country.
The Kwahuhene made the remarks at Kwahu Abene when some executives of the company led by Mr. Stephen Asare, area sales manager for Eastern, Volta, and Oti Region, paid a courtesy to him and also to fulfill its promise of supporting Kwahu Easter.
The company the gesture presented a cheque of GH 10,000, a drink hampers for the celebrations, and airtime worth GH 1,000.
Daasebre Akuamoah Agyapong II commended the company for its partnership with the Kwahu Traditional Council and the projects it has executed in the area.
The company also presented GH 5,000, drink hampers, and airtime worth GH 500 each to Obomeng, Abetifi, and Mpraeso.
They have also paved a parcel of land at Obomeng which can be used by the community for events at a total cost of GHc 70,000. And it was handed over to the Obomenghene and his elders yesterday.
Speaking after the presentation, Mr. Stephen Asare indicated that to provide a distinct customer experience during the celebration, MTN will set up an experience center at Obomeng to provide customers with an enhanced customer experience whilst they celebrate. Given the ongoing SIM registrations, they will also have a team that will register customers’ SIM with the Ghana Card.
“We also wish to inform the people of Kwahu that, MTN Heroes of Change is currently open for nominations. This edition of the MTN Heroes of Change is being organized to reward individuals and institutions that have made a significant impact in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the country” he added.
He said the work done during the period should be in the three focus areas of the MTN Ghana Foundation which are Health, Education, and Economic Empowerment.
He, therefore, urged Kwahuhene to nominate heroes from this community who fall within the criteria for MTN Heroes of Change. The deadline for nominations is the 25th of April 2022.
