A 24 years old woman, Herty Eshun, has allegedly committed suicide by hanging at CP, a suburb of Kasoa in the Awutu Senya East Municipality in the Central Region.
The deceased, before hanging herself, sent a text message to her friend whom she was staying with.
Bryt FM News sources indicate that the 24 years old lady came from Cape Coast to stay with her friend Ruth Aidoo to search for job opportunities.
But in the meantime, she was supporting her to sell at a wholesale shop located in Kasoa New Market but there was always a shortfall in sales hence decided to send her back to Cape Coast till she gets a new job for her only to find her commit suicide by hanging.
“I was going out but I noticed I left my keys behind so I returned home after taking the key I decided to say high to my friend only to see her hanging. I screamed for help but she was dead so they told us not to touch the body but take pictures and report to the police. When we go to the police station the network on my phone returned fully which I saw that she sent me a message around 1:40pm thanking my husband and me for the show of love when she came to stay with us. She advised me to serve God well and take care good care of my child whom he like so much. She wished she could stay with the child for a long time but hope that they will meet in future with joy, but, in the meantime wants to end it here because life is not treating her fairly” Ruth told Bury News Central Regional Correspondent Eric Owusu Amponsah.
The body of the deceased has been retrieved and deposited at the morgue.
This is the third female suicide incident recorded in the country this week.
A 14-year-old final year student of Miracle Educational Academy Junior High School (JHS) at Sunyani in the Bono Region, Leticia Kyere Pinaman, allegedly committed suicide at about 6:30 pm on Monday, May 17, 2021, while the students had converged at the school’s church auditorium for Bible studies.
Mybrytfmonline.com reported on May 20, 2021, that a female teacher allegedly committed suicide at Assin Foso in the Assin Central Municipality in the Central Region.
The deceased, Catherine Ansah, 27 years of age is said to be a newly posted teacher teaching at Mankessim Nkwanta but visited her sisters and grandmother at Assin Foso.
Grandmother of the deceased, Madam Mary Pamfors, said the now deceased teacher was absent in the house in the morning which was unusual of her therefore they were curious.
The family started calling her mobile phone number but all the calls went unanswered.
She said they began to search for her whereabouts. The family decided to break into one of the rooms which were locked in the house only to find the teacher hanging dead in a nylon sponge.
