Central Regional Communication Director for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Robert Amissah has debunked rumors that the NPP has deceived Central Region with fake Harbour and Airport promises.
This follows the claims that Dr. Bawumia in a conference stated that the NPP was making plans of building an airport and a harbour in the region.
Bawumia stated that the existence of a harbour will help the region and eradicate unemployment in the Region.
Speaking in contrary to the said promises, The President, His Excellency Nana Akuffo Addo Dankwa in an interview with Eagle Fm, denied promising the region of the promises the Vice President earlier mentioned.
He corrected that, he promised to give them a landing site and not a harbour or an airport.
This has resulted in confusion as the two leaders have made contradictory statements concerning the issue.
According to Robert Amissah, in an interview with Abena Opokua Ahwenee on Dadi FM 101.1, there has been no miscommunication because the two statements from the President and the Vice President because they all mean the same thing.
“As Fantes, we understand Harbour as the landing site, that’s how we see it so there is no contradiction between the two people whether it is a harbour or a landing site”, he added.
He also stressed that people should not make assumptions and end up confusing themselves over the two statements because they all mean the same hence, nothing is alarming about the issue.
“This is not something that should confuse, a landing site for Central Region as promised by the President is not different from what the Vice President also promised”, he said.
