A police officer at Koforidua – Oyoko Police station in the New Juaben North Municipality is being evicted from the house they occupy as a police station.
The house was rented temporarily for use as a Police station. However, police officers continue to occupy the facility after many years.
The development has forced the community to initiate a Police station project.
Oyoko Citizens Abroad in collaboration with Oyoko Development Association on December 26, 2020, raised fund to speed up work on the ongoing Police station project in the community
George Adjei Mensah, chairman of Oyoko Development Association told Mybrytfmonline.com that the police station project is a pressing need because police Personnel in the area are being evicted from their current occupied police station facility by the landlord hence the initiative to build a permanent police station facility for the community.
Ernest Okrah is popularly known as Azigi, an executive member of Oyoko Citizens Abroad said the diaspora group has injected a total of GHC1,200,000 into many local projects in areas of health, education, security, among others in the Oyoko community.
He called on all natives of Oyoko living abroad to join the association to contribute their quota to the development of the community.
