The Church of Jesus Christ Later Day Saints has donated X-ray Machine Worth $8,600 to the Asamankese Government Hospital in the Eastern Region.
An X-ray is a quick and painless procedure commonly used to produce images of the inside of the body. It is a very effective way of looking at the bones and can be used to help detect a range of conditions.
President Solomon Agyemang Konadu who is Asamankese Ghana State president for the Later Day Saints church led the team for the donation.
According to him, MeBoafo Foundation, an NGO based in Eastern Region that aligns its operations with three of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): SDG 1 – No Poverty, SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being
SDG 4 – Quality Education wrote letter to the Church recently to support the Hospital and the Authority in the church approved and solicited for funds from members.
Dr. Samuel Agyemang Boateng, Director of Health Services in West Akim Municipal who received the machine said the Hospital could not performed many tasks due the absent of modern x-ray, adding,the Later Day Saints Church donation has come in the right time.
He said the hospital has been using about 25 year old X-ray which cannot perform many tasks and expressed his appreciation to the donors.
