A leaked video in possession of mybrytfmonline.com has captured a Teacher at St. Stephens Senior High Technical School (STEPSS) in Akyem Asiakwa lashing a half-naked student in the open.
The student wearing only short is seen in the push-up position being whipped at the buttocks by the teacher identified as Sir Amable, a senior Housemaster at the full glare of other students.
The 25 seconds video captured the teacher administer 15 strokes but according to sources, the lashes were about 25.
The student is alleged to have assaulted another student at the boarding house during a misunderstanding resulting in the hospitalization of the Student.
Nonetheless, the type of punishment adopted by the Senior Housemaster has however triggered anger giving that, corporal punishment has been banned in schools by the Ghana Education Service.
The leadership of the old Students Association led by Tweneboa Kodua has met School Authorities on the matter.
The headmaster of STEPSS reportedly said, he was unaware of the incident but assured that he was going to investigate.
Mybrytfmonline.com published a similar incident that occurred on October 29, 2020, at WBM Senior High School at Akyem Old Tafo in Abuakwa North Municipality where two students were lashed mercilessly by the Senior House Master identified as Mr. Dagar resulting in severe injuries.
