Ghana Football legend Dan Owusu has advocated for a stakeholders meeting in a bid to help raise the standard of the Ghana Premier League.
Number of Ghanaians and football legends have raised concerns about the standard of the domestic top-flight with Dan Owusu wading into the debate.
The low patronage of the Ghana Premier League in the ongoing campaign has been a major concern for stakeholders.
Sharing his opinion on how to raise the standard of the league, the three-time Ghana Premier League goal king clamored for a stakeholders’ meeting, as he believes that would help in finding solutions to problems undermining the game.
“It is very difficult but to resolve this problem, I think there should be a stakeholders meeting. During our playing days, players had side businesses and that helped some of us to stay in the local league. But the narrative has changed this time, football is the only job for most of the players and as a result, they leave for greener pastures. So we need to find solutions to player exodus and others to make the league attractive again”
“At the moment, it is difficult as an individual to run a team. It is about time stakeholders meet and find solution to problems undermining our game” he told Bryt FM sports in an interview.
