The former Ambassador to the United Kingdom, His Excellency Victor Emmanuel Smith has asked the Electoral Commission to ensure that the interest of Ghanaians is respected.
According to him, the coalition process at the just-ended elections was not transparent to the people of Ghana and that is why the masses have not accepted the results of the election.
Speaking in an interview with Abena Pokuaa Ahwenee on Dadi FM 101.1, Victor Smith said the Electoral Commission owes a responsibility to the citizens and must ensure that the votes of the citizens count.
“The Electoral Commission owes a responsibility to ensure that every election is free and fair, the coalition process was not transparent and it’s not fair on the part of Ghanaians”, he said.
According to him, this is the worst electoral commission ever because the commission has not been fair to Ghanaians.
He added that Ghanaians voted against the New Patriotic Party because the party didn’t fulfill its promises and didn’t work hard as Ghanaians expected.
“The fall of NPP ministers even show that Ghanaians have realized the incompetence of the NPP and that is why they voted them out”
He said that the people are angry because they have been cheated on by the electoral Commission and that is why there is violence after the declaration of the results.
He has assured NDC supporters that the party is still gathering enough evidence to prove their point and show Ghanaians that the 2020 election was rigged.
