Agrihouse Foundation has stressed that it is focused in ensuring most young ladies get interest in entering into agriculture in the coming years.
Madam Alberta Nana Yaa Akyaa Akosa Sarpong, CEO of Agrihouse Foundation made this known at the 5th Gold In The Soil Awards held in Koforidua on 26th and 27th July, 2023.
In an interview with the media, she was worried that the youth are not interested the in agriculture due to the poor mentality that it is a business for the aged.
According to her, it is time to ensure that young ladies are well sensitised on the importance of agribusiness and also support them to have interest in the sector.
“We have come to realise that, most of the nomination we got were from those with old age. We only had a young woman of 38years amongst them and luckily she emerged as the ultimate winner” she stated.
Madam Akyaa Akosa called on the government and other stakeholders to join in the campaign to ensure most young ladies get the love to engage in agriculture.
She was, however, grateful to their partners for their support over the years and hope to have more collaborations to ensure the target is reached.
