Founder and General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Pastor Mensa Otabil has called on all Ghanaians to join fight against the spread of Novel COVID-19 Pandemic which he described as the main Enemy of the world now.
According to him, Ghanaians should not take their political opponents and old people in their family as an enemy at this time but rather think of the deadly disease and how to avert the spread.
In a sermon about the triumphant entry of Jesus into Jerusalem this Palm Sunday, Pastor Mensa Otabil called on Ghanaians to give back to their society and churches as Ghana struggles to deal with the coronavirus pandemic causing havoc around the world.
He said giving to the church in the form of offertory is also important because the funds can be donated to support efforts by the government in the fight against COVID-19.
According to him, many churches in the lockdown areas are also using church offertory which is now being collected digitally to provide for the basic needs of members of the church who are destitute.
ICGC on April, 2 donated GH¢100,000 to the COVID-19 National Trust Fund in support of the government’s efforts to combat the spread of the coronavirus in the country.
Some ICGC churches also donated food items to congregants at the start of the lockdown.
Pastor Mensah Otabil, however, urged Ghanaians to use the crises in the world to address internal problems such as Sanitation, Minimizing Poverty, Building strong and Sustainable Industries and other challenges confronting the Nation.
