The Rt. Hon. Speaker, Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin has called for the need to intensify the use of traditional culture to promote and market the country to the world.
According to the Rt. Hon. Speaker, Ghana is the Centre of the world and culturally very vibrant therefore conscious efforts must be made to market Ghana to the world.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker made these remarks when the Righteous Stars Cultural Dance Team paid a courtesy call on him in Parliament.
In his welcome address, the Clerk to Parliament, Mr. Cyril Kwabena Oteng Nsiah noted that in 2022 the Righteous Stars Cultural Dance Team contested in the World Cultural Festival and won the highest award.
He was of the view that due to their excellent performances across the globe, they decided to pay a courtesy on the Speaker and officially announce their participation in the 2024 World Cultural Dance Festival scheduled from 15th July to 31st, 2024 in South Korea.
The Leader of the Cultural Team and Deputy Country Manager of International Youth Fellowship, Rev. Young Jun Moon, used the opportunity to narrate the historical background of South Korea and how the country has developed.
The Rt. Hon. Speaker, Leaders from the Minority and the Majority Caucuses, Directors and Officers of the Parliamentary Service applauded the cultural performance by the Righteous Stars and wished them well in their upcoming contest in South Korea.
