The Omanhene of the New Juaben Traditional Area, Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng III has advised parents to take proper care of their children as he believes good parental guidance is the only way for a child to achieve greatness.
According to him, many parents have abandoned their children to live the lives they see fit for themselves without their direction or protection, indicating it has had a negative impact on their children’s lives.
He made this assertion during in an interview with Bryt fm.
“Children are our future so we have to protect them and help them to achieve the good future. Allowing children below the age of 18 to hawk is very bad. This wasn’t common some years ago, it scares me anytime I see them in town running after cars to sell. It hurts me, so I called my elders and the traditional council to assist me to make parents stop sending their children to hawk on the streets, because they also deserve a better future” he said.
He added “Most of these children are very talented and with a little push from their parents, they can achieve their potentials”.
“Their future is very important to me and in view of that, henceforth I don’t want to see any child below 18 after 8pm. This action will help the children have enough rest, do their homework’s and also get ready for school the next day. Most of them are talented who need grooming”. He said.
“Once more, this measure will prevent drug dealers from going out to impregnate someone’s daughter throughout that period”.
