President Yoweri Museveni has called upon Ugandans living in the diaspora to play an active role in developing their homeland, according to local media reports.
Museveni made this appeal during the second annual edition of the 2023 Canada National Resistance Movement (NRM) Chapter Symposium.
The NRM is Museveni’s party that has been in power since 1986.
Museveni’s appeal comes after the World Bank suspended new funding ($5.4 billion) in response to a harsh anti-LGBTQ law.
