With almost three-quarters of the vote results in, President Weah and opposition candidate Boakai are neck-and-neck, according to the latest presidential election results released by the country’s National Elections Commission.
President Weah has a narrow lead of 43.8% against Boakai’s 43.5%, with about 73% of the votes accounted for so far.
To avoid a runoff, the winner must secure more than 50% of votes cast.
