Libyan authorities have confirmed the arrest of a middle aged Ghanaian national identified as ‘Begi’, an internationally wanted criminal, for allegedly trafficking, abducting, exploiting and forcing eleven (11) women into prostitution under threats.
The women of different nationalities were discovered by Libya’s 4444 Combat Brigade in a large property, which the suspect had turned into the den of his operation.
The operation reportedly follows international alerts over the disappearance and suspected trafficking of some women who had travelled to the country for work opportunities.
