Premiership giants Liverpool are set to hijack Arsenal’s move for Ghana international Thomas Partey.
The Ghanaian midfielder was superb as Atletico Madrid pulled off an unlikely Champions League victory over Liverpool last month.
Partey has since become a transfer target for Liverpool and has approached the player over a potential move.
Parte, 26, has reportedly been the subject of a £43.5m bid from Arsenal, who are looking to strengthen their midfield but the report says he could earn up playing for Liverpool.
Diego Simeone’s side sees Partey playing a key role for them again next term, but they may need Champions League football to keep hold of him.
