Deputy Lands and Natural Resources minister, George Mireku Duker received a six member team from Gold Coast Refinery on Tuesday 11th October 2022.
The visit by the officials of the privately owned Gold refinery to the Ministry, comes ahead of a scheduled meeting next week by Rand Refinery of South Africa to Ghana, to amongst others, help facilitate Ghanaian Gold refineries to acquire London Bullion Market Association (LBMA) certification, which is a very important aspect of holding the rights for Gold establishment around the world.
The meeting was fruitful and a very important step ahead of the meeting with Rand Refinery and hoped the outcome of the deliberations reached at the meeting will further boost discussions in the next engagement with Rand Refinery.
Rand Refinery has been appointed as one of only five internationally recognised referees by the LBMA, to assist LBMA in maintaining the good delivery system and its standards.
The Deputy minister later met with officials of Chifeng Jilong Gold formally of Golden Star Resources at his office to amongst others, discuss matters of mutual interest including local content.
Present at both meetings were the CEO of Minerals Commission, Mr. Martin Ayisi, the Advisor on Mines to the Minister, Mr. Benjamin Aryee and other officials from the Ministry.
