The Energy ministry continue their relentless efforts at attracting the needed investment into Ghana’s energy sector and therefore utilize every opportunity in this direction.
It is in this respect that, at the 3rd Ghana Investment and Opportunity Summit (GHIOS) in London, United Kingdom on Wednesday, the sector minister, Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh walked investors through the current state of our energy sector, whilst contributing to a panel discussion on the topic “The future of Energy in Ghana- exploring the energy mix and the case for renewable energy”
The minister indicated that the future of energy in Ghana will be anchored on a transition pathway towards carbon neutrality within a secure and efficient energy sector.
The renewable energy space, he said, presents a plethora of opportunities within the context of our energy transition framework.
“I noted that these opportunities are being pursued alongside our quest for massive oil and gas exploration, because a country like Ghana must find the right balance in the utilisation of its energy resources, of course, cognizant of international commitments”.
“We are grateful to the Ghana High Commission in the United Kingdom and the Ghana Investment Promotion Council (GIPC) for putting together this programme which will further propel the investment prospects of our dear country” Dr. Opoku Prempeh stated.
