Delegates in the Lower West Akyem Constituency in the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of the Eastern Region have re-elected Mr. Michael Asante as the Constituency Chairman for another four years in just ended Delegates Conference at Asamankese.
Mr. Michael Asante, who is a teacher by profession, pulled 403 votes against his contender, Mr.Joseph Ameyaw, who also got 284 votes after deciding to move from the 1st vice chairmanship position to the chairman.
The Constituency`s women Organizer, Mrs. Rosemond Owusu Boadi was defeated by Madam Doris Amponsah Botwe who had 532 votes against 192 votes, but the Nasara Coordinator, Abdul Rahman Shaban was retained with 453 votes while he contended, Issah Gyimah also had 270 votes.
For the first time in the NPP, Madam Elizabeth Awuettey was elected as deputy secretary and she pulled 302 votes to defeat Jonathan Tetteh and Michael Offei who had 206 and 186 votes respectively.
Mr. Randsford Darko who was the Constituency Youth Organizer contested for the organizer position and defeated two others in the race with 260 votes whilst Mr. Nicholas Ackon and Enock Owuraku Asare also had 253 and 212 votes respectively.
The Party`s Constituency Secretary who is currently the Director for West Akyem Municipal Director of the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) was Kingsley Omane Awuah was also re-elected with 265 votes against 258 for Mohammed Abdul Rahman who was deputy secretary.
The delegates also voted massively for their Organizer, Mr. David Apetsi who contested for 1st vice chairmanship position and got 403 votes to defeat two others whiles Mr. George Kissiedu Yirenkyi also had 262 votes to win the second vice-chairman position and he defeated four others in the race.
Mr. Alfred Asare won the Youth Organizer Position with 210 votes and he defeated two females and three males who were in the contest. Mr. Mohamed Gonja Muniru also retained his seat as Treasure.
