President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has criticized former President John Dramani Mahama, asserting that his inconsistency and lack of clear policies make him unfit for leadership.
These remarks were made during a meeting with professionals in the Ashanti Region as part of the President’s three-day tour and project commissioning in the area.
According to President Akufo-Addo, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) presidential candidate has proven unreliable due to his frequent shifts in stance on key issues. The President described Mr. Mahama as a “talkative” and a “flip-flopper” who lacks a substantive plan for the country.
“How can you trust someone who says one thing today and changes his position on the same matter the next day? He cannot be trusted,” Nana Addo remarked.
He also attacked Mr. Mahama’s campaign pledges, arguing that they don’t provide creative answers to Ghana’s problems, but instead center on policy revisions and cancellations.
“Mr. Mahama does not have any policy. Is reviewing a policy? Is cancellation a policy? That is what he is going around telling people. I’m telling you, don’t trust him,” the President added.
President Akufo-Addo also used his visit to praise Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the best person to succeed him, pointing to his enthusiasm and dedication to progress.
In order to maintain the gains established during the current administration, he asked Ghanaians to back Dr. Bawumia in the next elections.
“Bawumia has the energy and positive intentions for the region and the country. He must be given the opportunity to lead after me,” Nana Addo stated.
