By the end of his four-year term, President John Dramani Mahama has promised Ghanaians that his administration will have resolved the nation’s economic crisis.
On Thursday, February 27, in his first State of the Nation Address to Parliament during his second term, he acknowledged the dire economic situation but pledged to steer the country back toward development and prosperity.
“I John Dramanai Mahama will fix the economic crisis confronting our country and reset it on a path of growth and prosperity.”
“The nation is not in a good state,” President Mahama continued. Ghanaians are going through unheard-of sufferings, and our economy is in crisis,” Mahama said. But instead of focusing on the past, he underlined his dedication to discovering answers.
“I don’t like to complain and assign blame. Therefore, even though there is a lot to be sad about, I am not here to do so,” he said.
The president cited his prior accomplishment in resolving Ghana’s electricity problem to reiterate his reputation for keeping his word.
“I solved ‘dumsor,’ as I had promised. He reminded the country that there was no load management or electricity rationing in Ghana.
