Member of Parliament for New Juaben South, Michael Okyere Baafi, has sent a strong warning to the Mayor of New Juaben South consistency, Ransford Owusu Boakye, to make good use of the District Common Fund to promote balanced growth across the metropolis.
Speaking on Bryt Adekye Mu Nsem, Okyere Baafi emphasized that, funds are given to all Municipal Chief Executives to do work, and I expect our MCE to do same to benefit everyone.
“Hon. Ransford Owusu, if he does not use the money given to him, they will say it”.
According to Hon. Baafi, the NPP government has done a lot for Zongos, including the development of a new Zongo market, a water project, and roads. He questioned what the NDC had done for Zongos and urged the community to put pressure on the current government to keep their commitments.
“They claim that we have done nothing for them despite the fact that we have completed projects for them. The things that we have done for Koforidua Zongo have never been done before, thus we urge the Zongo community to put pressure on their government.”
Since the Zongo people claim that the NPP government accomplished nothing for them, he is urging them to exert pressure on the NDC government.
“I’m speaking to members of the Zongo community. With all the things I have stated for you that the NPP government did, you are saying that we didn’t do anything, so now your government has come into power, and I want you to put pressure on him to come and fix the road and other projects for you, because if you don’t put pressure on him and we come into power again, we won’t mind you”
