The Asamankese Circuit court presided over by His Honour Abubakari Abass Adams has sentenced a 22-year-old man to five years imprisonment in hard Labour for stealing.
Atta Samuel, the accused pleaded guilty for stealing and unlawful entry and was convicted on his plea.
Prosecution officer, Sargent Samuel Owusu told the court that the complainant is a driver residing at Kwaobaa/Nyanoa while the accused is also a Goldsmith in Agbogbloshie in Accra.
He said on 7th May 2021 at about 2:00am, the complainant heard a noise in his house and when he came out, he detected that his motorcycle with a registration number GR-848-20 worth ¢3,500 was missing from his garage.
The next day, the complainant after reporting to Nyanoa Police received a phone call from Nsawam Police that his motorcycle has been intercepted and the accused has also been put in Police custody for further investigation.
The complainant went to Nsawam Police station and identified his motorcycle after which the accused also confirmed stealing it from Nyanoa.
The accused was charged and sent to court for prosecution.
