Managing Director of State Housing Company (SHC) Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah has led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Okuapehene, Oseadeeyo Kwasi Akuffo III, at his palace in Akropong in the Eastern Region.
The visit was to explore possibilities and opportunities of SHC establishing an Estate within the Akuapem range which has a very conducive organic environment and unique landscape.
Although the meeting was held behind closed doors, it was learned that the Okuapemhene was excited about the mission of the visit and pledged to support the project by identifying a suitable location for the project.
He recalled that about four decades ago, the Akuapem Traditional Council gifted the State Housing Corporation a land but the land was never developed.
Mr. Kwabena Ampofo Appiah thanked him for his warm reception and noted that his technical team was all set to meet Representatives of the Traditional Council to begin deliberations towards establishing an SHC Estate.
The new management of SHC continues to foster relationships with chiefs who are custodians of lands.
Management has so far visited Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, Okyenhene Amoatia Ofori Panin, the Omanhene of the Sefwi Traditional Area, Osabarima Kwasi Bumangama have all gifted SHC with parcels of land for housing projects.
